FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ – The Town of Fountain Hills, in partnership with Republic Services, is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 Non-Profit Grant Program. A total of $10,000 will be awarded to two local non-profits:
Mary Ellen & Robert McKee Boys & Girls Club - $5,000
Fountain Hills Youth Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition - $5,000
This grant program, designed to support nonprofit organizations based in Fountain Hills, funds initiatives that promote environmental stewardship, enhance the town's natural beauty, foster public enjoyment, encourage healthy lifestyles and human services, and provide educational opportunities.
“For more than ten years, Republic has been a reliable partner to Fountain Hills, consistently delivering essential services like curbside recycling and trash pickup. Republic also provides bulk and green waste collection and hosts annual hazardous and electronic waste events, which are a significant benefit to our community,” said Mayor Gerry Friedel. “Their involvement in several community events like Make a Difference Day demonstrates their commitment. These annual grants to local non-profits signify a strong partnership dedicated to serving our community and I look forward to seeing what the groups accomplish with this opportunity.”
Melissa Krueger, Municipal Manager of Metro Phoenix at Republic Services, also shared her enthusiasm: "At Republic Services, our commitment to the communities we serve extends beyond the services we provide. As we congratulate the winners, we look forward to witnessing the projects and the lasting effects they will have on our community."
A total of nine grant applications were received and reviewed by a panel. Each application was evaluated on its overall community impact, particularly how the proposed project or program enriches the Fountain Hills community at large.
