Town of Fountain Hills Sees Cost Savings in FY2027 Law Enforcement Contract

Town of Fountain Hills News Posted on February 10, 2026

The Town of Fountain Hills will see reduced costs for its law enforcement services in the upcoming fiscal year, a positive outcome for the Town's financial outlook while maintaining current service levels.

The FY2027 contract with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) will see a reduction of $68,148.91, bringing total costs to $5.69 million in FY2027.

According to MCSO, the decrease is primarily driven by lower retirement costs and reduced overtime. These reductions more than offset cost increases associated with significant recent market-based pay increases for sworn personnel.

“Public safety remains a top priority for Fountain Hills, and we are pleased to see efficiencies that help reduce costs without compromising service levels,” said Mayor Gerry Friedel. "We are proud to work with MCSO and look forward to this partnership keeping Fountain Hills safe for the long-term."

The Town will incorporate the updated contract amount into its FY2027 budgeting process as it continues planning for the upcoming fiscal year.
