Household Hazardous Waste

HHW workers at rear of carThe HHW collection event was on November 5, 2022, at Fountain Hills High School located at 16100 E Palisades Boulevard. The event is for residential household hazardous waste and is open to residents of Fountain Hills, and members of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.
 
The HHW event allows residents to properly dispose of: old paint, gasoline, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, cleaners, and other like waste. 

Latex Paint

Old latex paint can be dried out in the can and then disposed of in your regular garbage. Ace Hardware also has an additive you can put in your paint to help dry it out faster.

List of most common items:

 All kinds of paint; limit of five one-gallon containers per car (residential only; no commercial)

 Lacquers, thinners, wood preservatives and stains

 Solvents, paint removers, gasoline, diesel fuel, lighter fluid, waste oil, pesticides, fertilizers,  
         drain/oven cleaners, adhesives, pool chemicals, aerosol cans, etc.

Light Bulbs and Batteries were not accepted at this event. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.

Local Business Support

Our local O' Riley's Auto Parts store located on Shea Boulevard, will take old motor oil, transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid at no cost. Mike’s Automotive on Panorama Drive will also take old automotive coolant/antifreeze at no cost.
