Town of Fountain Hills Prop 202 Grant Funding
According to Proposition 202, local non-profit organizations may submit applications to tribal communities on behalf of municipalities provided the municipality "sponsors" the application. Municipalities may also apply directly to the tribal nations for gaming grant funds. The municipal governing body must approve sponsorship in the way that the tribal community specifies. The town agrees to act as a pass through for the gaming grant cash by supporting an organization's application.
When the Town of Fountain Hills consents to serve as a pass-through, the town gets grant money from the tribal community and then sends a check to the nonprofit organization.
The Town of Fountain Hills supports local nonprofits in their efforts to serve the residents of our Town through Proposition 202 Indian Gaming Grant funding.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to understand the due dates and application requirements of the Tribes, and to apply directly to the Tribes once authorization is received from the Town.
