John Head founded the company in 1999 and has worked to develop better and more standardized ways of designing and producing subsea pressure vessels. Over the years, his knowledge and dedication in this area have enabled him to produce a line of off-the-shelf housings as well as proprietary software which allows the quick and accurate design of custom and unique enclosures. Under his leadership, the company is rapidly growing and he has recently added new staff and larger facilities to meet increasing customer demand.

These initiatives build on the Town Council’s unanimous approval of the Downtown Strategy in 2024 and the subsequent support of a 5-Year Downtown Streetscapes and Improvement Capital Project in the fiscal year 2025–2026 budget.
“The Town is excited to launch social media for Downtown Fountain Hills! Our Downtown is a hub for arts, culture, events, local businesses, recreation, and more, and this is an opportunity to feature the people behind it,” said Economic Development Director Amanda Jacobs.

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. – Experience Fountain Hills, the Town of Fountain Hills’ official destination marketing organization, has launched a website redesign that reflects the Town’s refreshed brand identity. The updated design aligns with the Town of Fountain Hills logo approved by the Town Council in 2023.
The new Experience Fountain Hills logo features two signature elements: the iconic fountain and a modern “Experience” typeface. The color palette draws inspiration from the vibrant hues of southwest wildflowers in spring and the dramatic sunsets of the Sonoran Desert, capturing the community’s energy, beauty, and sense of possibility.

The Town of Fountain Hills is excited to announce the launch of a cool new business starting Saturday, Sept. 13 with the grand opening of Snowbird Ice Cream Co., set to bring super-premium ice cream to locals and visitors alike. Founded by 21-year-old town resident Izaak Wontorski, the new shop will feature a variety of flavors produced by the Chocolate Shoppe in Madison, Wisconsin.
“The inspiration for Snowbird came from my time playing ice hockey, where post-game ice cream trips became a regular tradition,” said Wontorski. “After travelling across the country to try different types, I knew that I had to bring the deliciousness of Chocolate Shoppe to Arizona.”
The Chocolate Shoppe is known for producing super-premium ice cream using small-batch recipes and high-quality ingredients, including Madagascar vanilla and ultra-dark Zanzibar® chocolate. Their ice cream contains 14% butterfat and has a low overrun of 35–40%, resulting in a dense and creamy texture. Snowbird selected Chocolate Shoppe after extensive product testing and comparison.

The 860-square-foot shop features a modern and minimal aesthetic, with a grand mural painted by Laura Thurbon and the Inspiration Academy. The space includes clean lines, bold contrast, and curated accents. The goal is to create an environment that is both visually appealing and comfortable.
Snowbird Ice Cream Co. is located at 16725 E. Avenue of the Fountains, C-109. It will operate Tuesday through Sunday from 12 to 10 p.m., one of the few businesses in town open late.

The Town of Fountain Hills is turning up the volume this fall with a brand-new FREE Concert Series at Centennial Pavilion , designed to bring music, energy, and fun to Downtown Fountain Hills!
Grab your friends, your favorite blanket, and your dancing shoes, and join us the third Thursday of the month from November through April from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Centennial Pavilion (13001 N. La Montana Drive, next to the Community Center).

Barnaby and the Butcher play the broad genres of Alt-Country and Americana. At their center is Damon Barnaby and Joshua Butcher, who bring powerfully complex guitar, warm, emotive vocals and lyrics to the table.
March 19th – Znora (Rock/Blues)
Znora is an award-winning three piece rock band out of the Arizona desert. Adrian Negrete writes the original tunes, sings lead and plays guitar with a mix of varied influences from Chuck Berry and Santana to SRV and Hendrix. Joshua Montano brings his fierce drum skills and passion for 90s rock drummer styles like Dave Grohl and Chad Smith. Johnathan Rohde fills out the low end on the bass and blends rich harmonies.

Cisco and the Racecars specialize in bluegrass, folk, and old time Americana music. Their energetic style and diverse arrangements and instrumentation create a unique blend of old and new. Under the management and vision of Francisco Briseno, Cisco & The Racecars has taken its place as one of the premier bluegrass bands in the Southwest. In addition to performing, Cisco & the Racecars mentors the young players of the Jam Pak Blues 'N' Grass Neighborhood Band, a local after school music program that gave several of the band's members their start.

FOUNTAIN HILLS, AZ (February 18th, 2026) - The Town Council voted 5-2 to approve a new solid waste services agreement that will reduce monthly costs for residents while maintaining reliable collection services. The change in providers takes place in 2027.
Beginning January 15th, 2027, residential trash and recycling services will be provided by Universal Waste Systems at a rate of $19.98 per month. The new rate represents significant savings compared to the proposed renewal rate of $26.42 per month from Republic Services, the Town’s current vendor. That renewal would see residents paying 32% more for services compared to the agreement with Universal Waste Systems.
Town staff spent significant time reviewing submitted proposals and vetting each one and recommended moving forward with Universal Waste Systems to the Town Council.
“This was not a decision taken lightly,” said Public Works Director Justin Weldy. “We recognize that any change in service providers can feel disruptive. However, we want to ensure we work with a vendor that delivers high-quality services at the best possible value. This agreement provides meaningful savings for residents while maintaining dependable waste collection.”
The Town extends its sincere appreciation to Republic Services for its longstanding partnership and years of service to the community.
The agreement with Universal Waste Systems comes with a fixed rate for the first two years of the contract, which also includes four scheduled bulk waste collection events annually, as well as Christmas tree collection and disposal.
"UWS and the Blackburn family are so excited and appreciative for the opportunity to service the residents of Fountain Hills," said Matt Blackburn, Vice President of Universal Waste Systems. "We are appreciative of the trust that the Council put in us, and we can't wait to get started."
Universal Waste Systems currently provides municipal waste services in parts of California and New Mexico, as well as in Arizona City, Arizona.
The Town acknowledges that transitioning service providers will require residents to make changes, including establishing new accounts and exchanging collection bins. The Town will work closely with Universal Waste Systems to ensure a smooth transition and will provide clear communication and timelines well in advance of the January 2027 start date.

The Town of Fountain Hills is proud to welcome guests to its signature St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, featuring the annual Irish Fountain Fest on Saturday, March 14th, 2026, and then the Greening of the Fountain on March 17th.
The Country’s tallest fountain will turn green twice during the festival at noon and 4pm. It will be green again at its traditional time of noon on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th.
With expanded features and returning traditions, this year’s Irish Fountain Fest is set to be the biggest yet. The Saturday event is designed for attendees of all ages, offering everything from live Irish music and dancing to family-friendly entertainment and a full-park beer garden experience.
“Irish Fest is truly fun for all ages,” said Event Coordinator Ryan Preston. “Whether you're dancing to live music, exploring the kids’ zone, or enjoying a cold drink in our event-wide beer garden, the energy is unmatched. Come experience the best St. Patrick’s Day celebration in the Valley.”
Families can look forward to the enhanced Kids’ Zone, which continues to grow and features free rock walls, inflatables, crafts, and face painting. Meanwhile, adults can enjoy the event-wide beer garden, which is bigger in size this year.
Adding to the experience, a curated lineup of local food trucks will each feature Irish-themed menu items. New this year, the event introduces Guinness 0.0, a non-alcoholic option for those looking to enjoy the flavor of Guinness without the alcohol, alongside a variety of beer and seltzer choices.

This tradition dates back to 1979, when a group of residents made a bet to dye the fountain green and water ski around it. What began as a friendly challenge has become a cherished Fountain Hills tradition.
