Councilman Rick Watts

Rick has been a resident of the Town of Fountain Hills for more than 37 years. His background includes being a business owner, contractor for more than 40 years and recently a public servant as a member of the Planning and Zoning commission.  Rick has an extensive background in HVAC, energy and construction.  But most importantly an in-depth understanding of finances including planning, forecasting and budgets. Rick has hands on experience building, growing, acquiring, managing and leading small privately owned to large publicly traded organizations.  

Rick is a recent graduate of the Fountain Hills Leadership Academy, has served on the Neighborhood Property Owners Association, the NPOA Committee of Architecture and works with the Sonoran Conservancy as a trail host. 

Rick is a life member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). 

Prior to retiring Rick held certifications through the following organizations:

• ASHRAE Building energy assessment professional
• Association of Energy Engineers Certified Energy Manager
• Association of Energy Engineers Certified Energy Auditor
